Cara menggunakannya adalah sebagai berikut:

1. Transfer software USB safeGuard (usbsafeguard.exe) ini ke flashdisk anda

2. Jalankan softwarenya dengan melakukan klik ganda.

3. Saat pertama kali dijalankan, anda akan melihat tampilan seperti di bawah ini untuk melakukan setting password. Anda hanya tinggal mengetikkan password yang sama di kedua kolom tersebut dan kemudian klik OK.

4. Anda akan ditanya tentang apakah anda akan menyimpan password dalam format text di harddisk? jadi sewaktu-waktu lupa, anda bisa melihat password di file tersebut. Jika ya klik Yes. dan kemudian akan muncul jendela berikutnya dan klik Save.

5. Setelah itu akan ada tampilan dimana anda dapat menambahkan file dari flashdisk yang ingin di encrypt. Anda bisa menambahkan file dengan melakukan drag dan drop ke kotak kosong seperti di bawah atau anda bisa menggunakan pilihan “Encrypt All” untuk memilih semua file di flashdisk anda untuk di encrypt. Jika anda menambahkan file dengan melakukan drag dan drop. Anda tinggal menekan “Encrypt” untuk melakukan proses encrypt.

6. Setelah selesai di encrypt. file original perlu untuk dihapus. Pada gambar di bawah ini akan memberikan anda pilihan untuk menyesuaikan dengan pilihan anda. Secara default, program USB SafeGuard akan memilih Zero Out Data, jadi sebaiknya pakai pilihan ini, Tekan OK

7. Akan pesan “Process was Successful” seperti di bawah ini. Tekan OK

8. Data original yang tadi di Encrypt sudah di hapus. Itu tandanya file anda sukses di encrypt.

Men-decrypt File

Nah kalau tadi caranya untuk mengencrypt file sekarang adalah cara bagaiamana untuk mengembalikan atau memunculkan file yang tadi di-encrypt menjadi seperti semula. Caranya adalah sebagai berikut:

1. Klik ganda pada usbflashguard.exe. Anda akan diminta untuk memasukkan password (masukkan password yang tadi digunakan untuk meg-encrypt) dan tekan OK.

2. Akan tampil jendela seperti di bawah ini. Pilih file yang ingin di decrypt. Jika semuanya, pilih Decrypt All

3. Jika proses decrypt sudah selesai akan ada pesan sukses seperti di bawah, tekan OK

4. Selesai dan file anda kembali seperti semula.

Dengan begitu maka data-data di flashdisk anda akan selalu dalam keadaan aman.
